I’ve worked for over 40 years now as an illustrator across the range of editorial, design & advertising: luckily for you I’m not going to bore you with a long client list.
The work on this page is typical of what to expect when you commission me.
In this illustration of Long Island for Japanese clothing retailer ‘Dessin’ from 2023 – and the others for this client – I was given a composition with all the important elements, guided on how they wanted it painting, even down to type of brushstrokes, and what colours they wanted. My job, as so often, was to make it appear effortlessly fresh.
What am I like to work with?
You have been so wonderful to work with and I truly appreciate your professionalism. I have worked with many artists but you are by far one of the best and I’m just very grateful to work with you. (Miyuki Kurata, agent: Crossworld Connections, Tokyo)
Clothing retailer Dessin
From 2014 – 2023, I provided between 2 and 4 seasonal illustrations a year for this client; here’s a small selection from those years.
Shipton Mill flour packs
The current range of flour packs for the home baker.
I have been lucky enough to have worked for this client since 1984, when I produced illustrations for their very first range.
Since then, I have added to / renewed the images over the last 40 years, most recently in 2021.

Cabin prints for P&O cruise liner
I loved this job; sent by Tempest Radford Art Consultants to St Ives to do some paintings to be used as cabin prints for P&O cruise liner ‘Ventura’ earlier this century.
