Reportage drawing has always been at the core of what I do: narrative visual storytelling, a sequence of drawings on a theme, often peripheral observations of life surrounding other activities.
These drawings, made over 2 days, were exhibited onsite in the social centre at The Spike over one weekend in 2008.
The Spike Surplus Scheme was a community-run self-managed social centre in a squatted building in Peckham, South London.
Previously used as a fly-tipping site, it was occupied in 1999, immediately cleared, and provided mostly free activities for local people until its eviction in 2009 by Southwark Council.
